Hey there! I'm Samantha Tokita.

With a background in theatre arts, drawing, and makeup artistry, I fell in love with storytelling early on. After spending 3 years both on stage and behind the scenes, I found the most comfort and creative freedom overlooking the process and bringing the story to life.

All throughout high school, I rounded up my theatre friends and put together fashion and beauty editorials as well as short films. Finding a space to work with other creatives, in a medium where we could all tap into our inner child and play pretend, was lifechanging. I was instantly hooked.

In 2015, I moved to Seattle and joined the MAC Cosmetics team to expand my knowledge of color and network with creatives in this new area. Soon after, I began working on editorials and short films for local photographers and filmmakers, not only as a makeup artist, but as an assistant, knowing full well I wanted to be behind the lens full time someday. Between projects, I put my new knowledge to use and photographed portraits of friends and family. The variety of creative ventures I experienced have all affected my process as a photographer today.

Before long, I was hired to shoot for Desert Daisy Jewelry, Flojos Sandals, and SLATE Clothing.

Whether we create a fictional world to enhance your latest clothing line, or we're illustrating the tale you and your significant other have written over the years, there is nothing I believe in more than the power of your story.

What's yours? Let's talk.
